Dear McKinley Families,

As spring arrives and the days grow longer, it's a wonderful time to get outside and recharge as a family. It's also a significant time at McKinley, as our 3rd–8th graders begin their annual state assessments in Reading, Math, and Science.

Our goal is for students to approach testing with confidence and calm. Here's how you can help at home:

• Make sure your child gets a good night's sleep.
• Provide a healthy breakfast each morning.
• Ensure they arrive to school on time and ready to do their best.
• Offer encouragement and remind them how proud you are of their hard work this year.

Important Reminder for Grades 6th–8th:

Chromebooks must come to school fully charged each day. If there are any issues, please have your student bring their device to the office right away.

As an added incentive, students can earn 10 extra Eagle Bucks for each testing day they arrive on time and give their best effort—redeemable at our student store!

After a full day of assessments, encourage your child to unwind with some spring fun:

• Walk, bike, or head to a local park
• Enjoy a family picnic or outdoor meal
• Play a sport or toss a ball around
• Spend time gardening or simply breathing fresh air

These moments refresh the mind and support overall well-being during testing season.

We are so proud of everything our students have accomplished this year. With your support and their hard work, they are ready to shine. We've got this, McKinley Eagles!

Estimadas Familias de McKinley:

Con la llegada de la primavera y los días más largos, es un momento ideal para salir y recargar energías en familia. También es una época importante en McKinley, ya que nuestros estudiantes de 3° a 8° grado comenzarán sus evaluaciones estatales de Lectura, Matemáticas y Ciencias.

Queremos que los estudiantes se acerquen a los exámenes con confianza y tranquilidad. Aquí les compartimos cómo pueden apoyar en casa:

• Asegúrense de que su hijo/a duerma bien cada noche.
• Proporcionen un desayuno nutritivo cada mañana.
• Asegúrense de que llegue a la escuela a tiempo y listo/a para dar lo mejor de sí.
• Bríndales palabras de animo y recuérdenles lo orgullosos que están de su esfuerzo.

Recordatorio importante para los grados 6° a 8°:

Las Chromebooks deben llegar completamente cargadas cada día. Si hay algún problema, pídanle a su estudiante que lo lleve a la oficina lo antes posible.

¡Como incentivo, los estudiantes pueden ganar 10 Eagle Bucks extra por cada día de examen que lleguen a tiempo y den su mejor esfuerzo, canjeables en nuestra tienda estudiantil!

Después de un día de evaluaciones, animen a su hijo/a a descansar disfrutando el buen clima:

• Salir a caminar, andar en bici o visitar un parque cercano
• Disfrutar de un día de campo o una cena al aire libre
• Jugar algún deporte o salir a jugar a la pelota
• Dedicar tiempo a la jardinería o simplemente disfrutar del aire fresco.

Estamos muy orgullosos de todo lo que nuestros estudiantes han logrado este año. ¡Con su apoyo, sabemos que están listos para brillar!
