Mckinley Elementary

Dear McKinley Families,

December is here, and in the next three weeks all McKinley students in Grades K–8 will take the i-Ready Winter assessment. At school, teachers and students are setting growth goals together, and every child is encouraged to beat their previous score. We ask families to continue encouraging students at home. Good rest, a healthy breakfast, and reminders to take their time can help students do their best.

This year, we’re excited to launch our i-Ready raffle. Each classroom will receive a raffle prize package for students who improve, and our message is simple and empowering: All you need to do is improve.We want every student—no matter where they started—to feel supported, motivated, and proud of their effort and growth.

Thank you for partnering with us as we work toward strong academic progress for every Eagle. I want to offer a heartfelt thank you to the incredible PTO volunteers at our Community Food Distribution Program. During our last distribution, they worked through cold weather and pouring rain, and even when given the option to cancel, they chose to stay because they were committed to serving our community. Your dedication is a shining example of what makes McKinley special, and we appreciate you more than words can express.

Please note: There will be one food distribution at McKinley in December—on December 11th.

As we prepare for the new year, I am excited and optimistic. We have ambitious goals for 2026, and with our talented staff and strong family partnerships, ALL students will continue to grow, succeed, and SOAR to new heights. Queridas familias de McKinley,

Diciembre ya llegó, y en las próximas tres semanas todos los estudiantes de K–8 tomarán la evaluación de i-Ready de Invierno. En la escuela, maestros y estudiantes están estableciendo metas de crecimiento, y cada niño está motivado a superar su puntaje anterior. Les pedimos que sigan animando a sus hijos en casa. Buen descanso, un desayuno saludable y recordarles que tomen su tiempo pueden ayudarles a dar lo mejor de sí.

Este año estamos emocionados de lanzar nuestra rifa de i-Ready. Cada salón recibirá un paquete de premios para los estudiantes que mejoren, y nuestro mensaje es simple y motivador: Solo necesitas mejorar.

Queremos que cada estudiante—sin importar dónde empezó—se sienta apoyado, motivado y orgulloso de su esfuerzo y crecimiento.

Gracias por colaborar con nosotros para lograr un sólido progreso académico para cada Águila. Quiero agradecer de corazón a los increíbles voluntarios del PTO en nuestro Programa de Distribución de Alimentos. En la última distribución trabajaron bajo frío y lluvia, y aun cuando se les dio la opción de cancelar, decidieron quedarse porque están comprometidos con servir a la comunidad. Su dedicación es un verdadero ejemplo de lo que hace especial a McKinley, y les apreciamos más de lo que podemos expresar.

Al prepararnos para el nuevo año, me siento emocionado y optimista. Tenemos metas ambiciosas para 2026, y con nuestro talentoso personal y el fuerte apoyo de las familias, TODOS los estudiantes seguirán creciendo, logrando y VOLANDO a nuevas alturas. Gracias por su apoyo, ánimo y conexión con nuestra comunidad escolar. Juntos hacemos de McKinley un lugar donde cada estudiante prospera.
